House Blijendaal - Carmelite Convent

Maria Margareta van Valkenisse founded a Carmelite convent in Huis Blijendaal in Oirschot in 1644. This sister led a life of extreme fasting and physical suffering. She earned the nickname the Holy Nun because of her mystical gifts.
